Nestled against a
backdrop of the imposing Santa Ana mountains and beautiful Saddleback
Valley, Rancho Santa Margarita (“RSM”) is a young master-planned
community incorporated in 2000. Home to large employers like Applied
Medical, Cox Communications, and Target Stores, many residents live
nearby and enjoy extremely short commutes and the opportunity to live in
the relaxed comfort of RSM. Home to nearly 50,000 mostly affluent
residents, the area is divided into four distinct homeowners’
SAMLARC (Rancho Santa Margarita Landscape and Recreation Corporation)
was the planning organization for the original community, and plays home
to multiple parks, swimming pools, and community centers of activity.
Robinson Ranch is adjacent to O’Neil National Park and Cleveland
National Forest and was annexed from the Trabuco Canyon area to Rancho
Santa Margarita in 2000. Likewise for Rancho Cielo, which is a smaller,
guarded community with many upper-class residences. Finally, Dove Canyon
is a gated enclave of approximately 5,000 residents located close to
neighboring Coto de Caza.
