Orange County’s riding community is where coastal elegance meets a timeless equestrian lifestyle.
If the sound of hooves on a dirt trail beats the buzz of the beach, you’re in the right place. Horseback riding is one of the most unexpected and rewarding fun things to do in Orange County, offering coastal views, canyon escapes, and wide-open serenity. Whether you ride every week or dream of weekends in the saddle, there are trails and spots waiting to be explored. Here are some of my favorites.
Horseback riding trails

- Coyote Run Trail
Length: Approx. 2 milesTucked within Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, this rolling trail is open to horseback riders who want to escape through coastal sage scrub and oak woodland. It also connects easily with other equestrian-approved paths like Wood Canyon Trail.
